More than 200 million migrant workers are now supporting an estimated
800 million family members globally, as migrants send home 51 per cent
more money than a decade ago, according to a report
by the UN's Rome-based International Fund for Agricultural Development
(IFAD). "The small amounts ... that each migrant sends home ... makes an
enormous difference,” said IFAD president Gilbert F. Houngbo.
